Who is Super Stolie?

Deerfield, Illinois native Rebecca Stoelinga has been going by the nickname Stolie since high school (DHS Class of 1996) and started playing guitar around the same time as well.  A natural to performance in show choirs and then opening for friends’ punk bands in the cafeteria, the stage name just stuck!

So, “Hi, I’m Stolie.”

After a year abroad playing small cafes in

London, graduating from Illinois Wesleyan

University in 2000 with a BA in English, and

completing an urban studies music course

at the Chicago Arts Program, Stolie was hired

at Bloodshot Records where she worked in

publicity and radio promotions.  During this

time, Stolie toured the country with her

all-girl trio, Tres Femmes, filled her weekend evenings cranking out the cover tunes and started up four weekly acoustic open mics on the northside of Chicago.

After years performing until the wee hours of the night, Stolie had a revelation that performing daytime shows for children just might provide the transition away from evening performances and allow for her to one day have a family of her own. During the summer of 2006, Stolie performed at the Hideout for a fundraiser for Roger’s Park Montessori School.

Four years later, Stolie continues to

develop her set for children and

scope out new performance

opportunities. She has entertained

at birthday parties, libraries, park

districts and street festivals, and

along with her band The Rockstars

on cool stages like Navy Pier and

at the Taste of Chicago.

Lyrically appropriate for all ages, but with enough "cool" for even those in the double-digits, it's impossible to be bored when there's music involved!  Depending on the age group, the show can incorporates traditional songs (ABC, Wheels on the Bus, Twinkle Twinkle), popular or classic cover songs that the whole family will enjoy, and always includes catchy originals by Super Stolie from her brand new CD, When I Grow Up, released in 2009.  With lots of sing-alongs, a little dancing, instruments to play, bubbles to chase, balloons to keep afloat, you're sure to be high-fiving all the way home!  Or high ten!  Or bump it!

Super Stolie is available for all sizes of events and all ranges of demographics -- from 2 to 82 -- as a solo act, a duo, a trio, or with the full rocking band, Super Stolie and The Rockstars!  Just tell us what you’re looking for!

"Your band made the little 'tykes' feel like they were at their own rock concert.  No doubt, if Navy Pier is ever in need of a ROCKIN', SMOKIN' HOT kid's band, Super Stolie and The Rockstars is on the "A" list of contacts."
